"This was great show. To be honest when I was small and didn't have a clue what was going on the life force face/skull scared the hell out of me. Once I got past that I started to get into D&D, understand the concept of fantasy Roleplay and even get into it, it was fun. It was a show about teamwork, tactics, stratgy and fantasy. Most kids show nowdays just focus on Combat or trying to make you luaght. More shows like Knightmare should be made and if Knightmare should return I would happily support it. " -- Cinskywind

"I think this was one of the better games on telly at the time. I can remember getting home from thee old skool and watching, as fools tried to make their way through the virtual game. This was and could be once again one of the finest TV programs/games around. I truely hope this game can be brought back to our screens. I have never heard anyone bad mouth the game and I was annoyed at the time when the game was dismissed years ago. I still think even with computer games about today people will still enjoy the game Knightmare from ages 8-18. My sumary of the Knightmare is that the game was a fully enjoyable game and would be delighted to see it on my telly. How could this master piece be tacken from us! best of luck in brining back a once wonderful game." -- Trevor Pearson

"Knightmare became the cornerstone of programming throughout it's 8 season run on CITV. The series had key elements that made it such an entertaining show. Myth, Drama, Comedy, and a Game Show element to it that kept us fellow watchers of illusion thinking. It was always worth stopping in on a late monday or friday afternoon to watch it. after there was no more knightmare, i stopped watching CITV altogether when i was 15. I would welcome a return to Knightmare to our TV screens. If Lord Fear had his way with dealing with the Controllers of Childrens Programming for telling that Knightmare cannot come back. Only one phrase would sum up his reaction. 'ooooooo Nasty!' Please Bring it back! The Greater Game must prevail!" -- Adam Faulkner

"I was about 7 or 8 when I started watching Knightmare. My favourite ordeal had to be the causeway, then 'play your cards right' in series 8. By now, childhood seems a blur, except that day when Dunstan won the crown at the end of series 8. Still crystal clear in my memory. I just couldn't concentrate at school that day, wondering what was going to happen at 4:40 p.m. Yeah it's a kids programme, so what, too good a show to go off!! This campaign is a great idea, thanks for all your hard work, maybe something will come of it next year if it's a 'hit' on challenge. HOW CAN IT NOT BE?!!" -- Ben Price

"When I discovered Knightmare on Challenge? TV several weeks ago, I almost did a somersault. That was the show I grew up with, along with The Dreamstone, which also disappeared needlessly into nothingness... Knightmare started my whole passion for fantasy fiction, and now my goal is to finish my first novel. I still can't get over the fact that I never got to go and challenge the dungeon myself. If we can bring back this most miraculous of shows, who knows, maybe my children will be battling goblins someday. It gets me all nostalgic, and God I've missed it. The only thing I wouldn't like about a Knightmare revival would be the new show format, since I'm very attached to the old style and graphics, but I'd try anything to get the show back. God I'm rambling, but it's all for the wonder that is Knightmare. Keep me keepupdated, Okay? GOD I love that show..." -- Amy Johnson

"A truly excellent show I remember with very fond memories. I have read many of the comments here and can only agree fully. I remember those Friday afternoon's too! Knightmare was and probably still is one of my all time favourite shows. I recently got Sky TV and I was so happy to see it was being repeated on Challenge TV. It was the first episode I have seen of it since it's sad demise from CITV - which in my opinion went downhill rapidly since then. I was so happy to see it once more and the memories came flooding back. I was even more surprised to see it still looks good to this day. A truly excellent show that thoroughly deserves repeats and even a revival as long as the original cast is used." -- Gary H

"If Knightmare did anything it showed that this country can make innovative, exciting, and popular TV shows. In this day of absolute TV crap (ahem - Fame Academy, Changing Rooms, etc....) we should remember that there was a time when children prefered to think and feel mentally challenged whilst watching programmes. I'm still a fan of kids' TV, but I can't help feeling that all it does these days is patronize and try to push marketing; can anyone imagine Treguard trying to flog Teletubby dolls? I think not!. If Knightmare can't come back, at least release it on video/DVD so we old-timers can one day show it to our own kids and say 'You see? TV really was better back then.....' PS. Some advice: Hold a 'Knightmare Evening' or 'A night of Knightmares' on which ever terrestrial channel is willing, advertize it, and just see how many people tune in......" -- Riccardo Bennett-Lovsey

"Knightmare is amazing! As a kid i watched it and thought it was the best show ever. I still watch the repeats before i go to work on the weekends on Challenge TV. With todays computer technology a much better version of Knightmare could be made and i think it would definitely appeal to children of today. Videogames are so popular, so watching/taking part in a videogame yourself would seem excellent. With all the stuff that's being put out on tv these days i really do not see why you could say that this can't be done .. This is actually good! Not one of those money-raking X Factor programmes or dumbed down kid's shows. It should be brought back without any questions!" -- Stephen Trepak

"I remember Knightmare from my teen years growing up. I remember running home from school so as not to miss a single second, it was absolutley brilliant! The characters were instantly likable and made the show so enjoyable along with the fantastic backgrounds on which the games were played. Some of the teams were so daft I always remember shouting at the TV thinking I could do better! Well, I hope I once again have the opportunity of seeing some new series of Knightmare although I still enjoy watching the re-runs on Challenge TV. BRING BACK KNIGHTMARE PLEASE!" -- Greg Billington

"I watched Knightmare as a kid and loved evry minute of it! It was and still is the greatest, most inteligent, marvelouse kids show of all time. I was mortified when it all ended. even now as a big kid I still watch the repeats on challenge TV and find myself still shouting at the telly set, taking it too seriousely and getting involved. It's much better than the mind numbing condiscending rubbish that kids are subjected to today. Im so glad someone has took the initiative to do something about it and bring Knightmare back to a new generation of little dungeoneers and adventurers who deserve to see something as thrilling and exhillerating as this show truely is; something that realy gets their imaginations going. THANKYOU!!!" -- Rachel Hutchinson

"One of the fondest memories of childhood television. I used to watch each episode with a dedicated passion and cried when the series was cancelled. Yes, I was one of those kids who jumped up and down in front of the television set seconds before the bomb went of or another puzzle was failed. As a series it spawned my passion for fantasy and sci-fi and boosted my intereset in computers in graphics. Now I'm a computer science student at Durham University. It was way ahead of its time and captivated thousands. And by Treguard's beard it should be brought back. A loving and passionate fan. Kian Ryan" -- Kian Ryan

"I'd love to see Knightmare back on TV again. I'm 26, but I'd happily watch it whether adults or kids were the players. It opened up a whole world of imagination for me and, now, I am an avid wargamer and author or fantasy and sci-fi. This would certainly not have happened if Knightmare wasn't around, as I started gaming at school by joining a club which was founded by someone who became interested in gaming via watching Knightmare. Without that club my current situation would be very different, and I would certainly not be a gamer or author. Please please bring back Knightmare - it's the only time TV has changed my life for the better. Lets face it: kids need something these days that combines their love of computers and their need for imagination and challenge. Knightmare provided both in an entertaining way. BRING IT BACK!!! :)" -- Skry Keith Adamson

"With the advent of TimeGate is is proven that the knightmare format still works. Let's see a return to the dark days of youth horror games." -- David Cooper

"knightmare was a fabulously ingenious idea which, although not entirely original in design and idea, was revolutionary in concept as it completely immersed the viewer (myself being an 8 year old kid) in a whole other world, and since then i have not seen a show where such a level of intimacy has been reached with the viewer. as a kid you are highly susceptible to the tv, and the programme makers of today should be thinking about that. how easily a child's mind can be tapped into if only you feed them the right food... knightmare was the perfect food, and it's accolades and praise proved that beyond doubt. it would be ridiculous to assume a broadcaster would be willing to resurrect the show without question in today's society, however if you look at the latest generation of consoles (PS2, X-Box, GameCube) the first-person RPG comes more or less as standard. be it in a platform style (Turok), a simulation (GTA 3) or a serious gamer's RPG (the Final Fantasy series, still incredibly popular), the style that knightmare transferred so well to the small screen is evident everywhere. to bring it back with all the visual and visceral tools at your disposal would make that style of show fantastically engaging. oh, and i'm not talking from a sad lonely gamer's point of view, i am just an ordinary guy (as must be many of us on this petition) who loved a show and would love to see it again. the format is superb, and deserves a second chance." -- David L. Petty

"I lived in Germany for a while when i was younger and Knightmare was one of the few good programs for kids on the one english station, bring it back i say." -- Damian

"Bring it back" -- Keith

"As a youngster growing up in Donegal Ireland I was able to get all the British channels. I was blown away when I watched Knightmare for the first time and kept watching it for as long as it was on. I think it should be brought back on to TV. It is still very popular as was shown in the Poll of top 100 Kids Tv Shows as voted for by channel 4 viewers a year ago when Knightmare got into the top 20. So good luck to this campaign " -- shaymacca2000

"When I was little I loved Knightmare and it was by far my favourite programme. As years passed by, and I became older, I forgot about it. All I remembered that there was this nameless gameshow I had once adored, where kids went through dungeons. Until today. I went on the CITV website where there was a poll for the best gameshow ever. Knightmare was one of the options. Still hoping to remember the name of this show I had so devotedly watched, I typed it into a search engine where I found sites dedicated to the show. By following the links, I had within seconds remembered it all, and had been brought back to the past. I was saddened that I had forgotten such a great piece of my childhood, yet so glad that I have found it again today. It was pure luck and chance that I was able to find a link to this amazing show and consequently remember it, and I really can't explain how great I feel. If there had been a relaunch or DVD release, maybe I would have been able to find this link to my past sooner or maybe I would never have forgotten it at all. As it is, now I have found it again, I would do anything for a DVD or anything that I could then keep forever, and I'm sure there are so many other people my age trying to remember what that amazing show they had once watched was too. There never was and never will be another programme like Knightmare. I never ever want to forget the great times I spent watching Knightmare. It was such an important part of my childhood." -- Miss Burrell

"i was on nightmare when i was 12 with 3 close friends and truley loved the experience - bring it back ! " -- ben Grossman
